INTRODUCTION TO PROFESSIONAL BODY PIERCING AT BEADSCAPE

Ten years and counting. That is how long we have been proud to offer you professional BODY PIERCING from EARS to NAVELS and everything in between. Laura has done every piercing here at Beadscape so you know that if you've seen good results from someone who has recommended you to us you will receive the same excellent service and follow up care. We are a family owned business (me, my husband and our two very cute dogs, Maggie and Annie). We take good care of all of our piercing clients and many of them will not go anywhere else for their body piercing. If you have any questions, you are always welcome to call us and speak with Laura. She can answer all of your questions and make you feel comfortable with your decision to come to Beadscape for all of your body piercing. Young or just young at heart, we cater to everyone. We are fully insured and inspected yearly by the NJ Board of Health. We have a private piercing room with a relaxed atmosphere. Written and verbal care instructions are provided before each piercing. A follow up visit is scheduled for a month after you are pierced. We are always here to answer your questions. So when you're ready just stop in, no appointment is necessary. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need an appointment? No. Most people decide they want a piercing and want it right away--so come on over. Body piercing is available Wednesday thru Friday (1:00-5:00) and Saturday (1:00-4:00)

What are the age requirements for body piercing? You must be at least 18 years old with a picture ID to get a piercing without a parent or legal guardian. If you are below the age of 18, you will need to bring your parent (Mother or Father) or your legal guardian (with paperwork from the courts). By law, no one else can sign for your piercing. For navel piercing, we prefer that the client be close to 15 years old or older. This is because if the piercing is done when the person is too young, the jewelry will be pushed out of the body when a growth spurt occurs, leaving a scar.

What happens when I arrive? You will be asked to filled out the necessary paperwork. Then we will help you pick out the jewelry for your new piercing. We cannot use body jewelry that is bought elsewhere, it most be purchased at Beadscape for insurance reasons. After you make your jewelry selection, it is disinfected for 15 minutes. We then go over the care instructions, step-by-step and you are provided with a written copy of the instructions. You are also given a complimentary spray bottle of saline solution to use during the healing of your piercing. You are then taken back to the piercing room. The piercing procedure is described to you and we discuss any allergies you may have to the products used during the piercing. Most piercings take about 15 seconds from start to finish..

Is there a follow up visit? Yes. We will ask that you stop back a month after the piercing so we can make sure it is healing properly. If you have any problems with your piercing before or after your scheduled checkup, you may stop in anytime. There is no charge for is visit.

Who will be doing my piercing? Laura (that's me) does all of the piercing. I've been piercing for 10 years. Beadscape is a family owned business. It's me and my husband (and our three cute dogs). We are fully insured and inspected annually by the Board of Health. All tool are autoclaved. All needles are used only once and then discarded. We are proud of our very clean facility and we make our customers feel right at home.

What is the price for my piercing? Current Piercing Prices are:
Ear to Ear (Industrial) with your choice of jewelry - was $90.00/now $85.00.
Daith, Rook, Vertical Tragus, Tragus, Conch, Anti-Tragus, Vertical Earlobe, Snug, Septum, Eyebrow, Labret, Lip and Monroe with your choice of jewelry - was $60.00/now $55.00.
Tongue with your choice of jewelry - was $74.00/now $68.00.
Nostril with your choice of basic jewelry - was $60.00/now $55.00. We like to advise you that all of the stones used in the type of jewelry are glued in and could fall out of the jewelry at any time. For this reason, we recommend upgrading to a genuine diamond with 14k gold (white or yellow).
Nostril with 14k gold and genuine diamond - was $80.00/now $75.00. The 14k gold nostril screw is available in either white or yellow gold. The genuine diamond is small, very flat and comes in a pronged setting so the diamond will not fall out. This is the jewelry we highly recommend for nostril piercing.
Nipple with your choice of jewelry - one $60.00 or both $100.00.
Navel with your choice of jewelry - was $74.00/now $68.00.

We do not do genital piercing.

Will it hurt? Piercing really doesn't hurt as much as you would think. It is more the apprehension, that makes getting a body piercing scary. Most piercings take only 15 seconds, from cleaning the piercing site to putting the jewelry in.

What is the healing time for my piercing?
Tongue, Monroe, Labret, Lip, Earlobe, Vertical Earlobe and Eyebrow - 1-2 months
Nipple(s) - 6 months
Navel, Ear to Ear, Daith, Rook, Vertical Tragus, Tragus, Conch, Anti-Tragus, Snug, Nostril, Septum and Cartilage - 6-8 months

I had a piercing done somewhere else and it never seems to totally heal. What could be wrong? This is a very common problem. If this is happening to you, just stop in. We will look at your piercing and give you some advise to help with the healing. It may be several things. The metal in the jewelry used during the piercing may contain a lot of nickel or it may be the wrong size. Perhaps you were not told the proper way to clean your piercing. Sometimes just changing the jewelry to a better piece of jewelry is all you need to do. Proper cleaning information will also help you on your way to complete healing.
